Agh.... look at me! My first picture in Madrid and I take it next to a construction site. First sites of Madrid were unforgettable. The narrow street bustling with tourists like ourselves standing around, starring and pointing at all the sites and sounds was probably annoying for the locals, but it didn't stop us. Helen starred at the wonderful architecture while Vova directed her so she does not get knocked down by other tourists or cars on the street. Whooooooo... Paella... great way to start off our spanish excursion. We were hungry, but overestimated our appetites as the waiter served us a huge family size paella enough to feed six or more people. Passersby looked at our dish and their mouth drooled. A few of them sat down next to us and ordered the same dish. We walked around the streets of Madrid as the sun began to set taking in every site and sound of the city. We walked and walked and ...... had to stop in for some mouth watering spankin' good hot chocolate. As the hot chocolate sat made us feel fat and sleepy, we decided to walk the fat off and check out how Madrid looks like at night. It is really hard to take decent pictures at night, but we still tried. Night time in Madrid is as busy if not more busy than the daytime. All the locals get out and start boozing and partying until the wee hours of the night. The tourists join the fun, alas we were all jet lagged and had a big day ahead of us, so we decided to retire early. We stopped by Pamela's bar on the way to bed. Pamela and Pilar we pleased to meet us. |
