Next day was all busy.  Got to visit Museo del Prado  and Museo del Jamon.   The first one had all the pictures the second had all the  ham.  Unlike the Prado in Museo del Jamon everything was up for tasting and eating.   All kinds  ham was hanging around everywhere, clearly not the place for a vegetarian.  Museo del Jamon has the cheapest beer in Madrid.  65c a cup,  can't beat that.

The rest of the afternoon we spent in the final preparations for the trip to Santiago.  The starting point of the pilgrimage was a small town in Galicia named Sarria.  Apparently nobody knows about it, and the english site for the spanish rail does not even list it as a possible destination.   Even the woman at the ticket counter was confused and thought that we want to go to Sevilla,  where all the sane and normal people usually go.

Below is the Plaza Mayor.  This is the place where all the witches and heretics were burned at the stake.   Now this is where all tourists, bar patrons and star wars protesters hang out.   If the spanish inquisition were to come back these days, they would certainly not approve.
